I've been on a camping trip with a couple of really awesome friends. It's been quite an adventure! I never thought I could spend four whole days just enjoying someone's company and doing almost nothing else. I did spend a good while drawing, and actually teaching him some, too!
The days on the trip were anything but cold, but I felt like drawing a cold scene for some reason. Perhaps because I like drawing winter clothing, especially scarves.
And here's a treat for you, too-- a background! That's rare indeed for me. I need to work on those more often. I wasn't sure how well it would fit in with Foxglove's crosshatching-ish shading. That style seems to fit better on round shapes, but textured things like the grass and flat things like the bridge don't work quite as well with it. Still, I think I managed alright. The scenery isn't any particular place, but I modeled it a bit after the kind of things you might find in the Seattle area: the freeway bridge, the beach, mountains, and a few park areas, all very near to each other.
I'm still getting the hang of what gradient works well for what. I think I could have don better, but this blue and violet isn't too bad.

That's not coffee. It's cocoa. I hate coffee.
